Captain Frank Byrd

I have been a fishing fanatic my whole life. And moving to Alaska has been a dream come true. A bad day of fishing here is a GREAT day of fishing anywhere else. The inside passage is like a beautiful calm lake, never a sea sick day.

And although we LOVE Alaska, and have had a great adventure the last 7 1/2 years, we have decided to move back to Washington state.  Home is calling us back, plus too many grandkids being born!

Captain Byrd has plans to continue guiding, but it will be on the Snake and Columbia rivers.  So, stay tuned for future announcements!

For all of you looking to fish in Hoonah, we will leave information about this beautiful place on our website to help you with your trip planning,

Hoonah is located 35 miles southwest of Juneau on Chichagof Island. With almost 900 year round residents. Commercial fishing and logging have supported the population, and most residents maintain a subsistence lifestyle.

Transportation: Hoonah is 20 min. from Juneau by air. About 3 hrs. by the state ferry (A beautiful trip in itself)

The Alaska Ferry and smaller airlines fly into Hoonah from Juneau and other Southeast ports. Those links are included at the bottom of the page.

I also will be available to fish reserved trips out of Juneau.I must have advance notice of at least two weeks (Preferably more) to make sure that I have the boat in Juneau when you get there.

It is a little more work to get to Hoonah, but well worth it. Call or e-mail and we will help you set it up.
